Thank you for attending the cricket demonstration at Sports Fest 2009

Posted Sun Oct 18 - 08:43 PM

Dear Parents and Kids,

Thank you for taking interest in the cricket demonstration hosted by the Brandon Cricket Club on October 18th at the Westman Place. We thoroughly enjoyed your company in teaching you how the concept of cricket is played. Unfortunately we regret to inform you due to financial constraints within the sport in the Westman region, the Brandon Cricket Club will not be able to coach any children under the age of 13 at this time.

If you're over the age 13, we look forward to hearing from you as we will be conducting coaching sessions beginning in November 1st, where you will be gradually moved into the adult team after sufficient practice. If you're an adult, you're more than welcome to join our team - new or experienced. We will conduct seperate practice sessions for new adults. Please email us at contact@brandoncricket.com

We plan to continue the cricket program in the summer (outdoors) where we will be able to accommodate children 12 years and under.

Once again, we apologize for this inconvenience. Please do not be too discouraged. Cricket is the second largest sport is making its impact in the Westman community. Children are the future, and we wish to help them very soon.

Regards,
Brandon Cricket Club

Thank you volunteers

Thank you to those of you who helped make the cricket booth/demonstration a success at the Westman place on October 18th. We had a great turnout with kids from all ages attempting a try at batting and bowling. We even had some parents have a go!!

We couldn’t have made this information session a success without all you people. We hope that you found the cricket hands on demonstration informative, and interesting. If you have any questions or concerns about anything presented at this year’s event, please email us at contact@brandoncricket.com

We would also like to send out a special thank you to Leanne Traynor and the team at Sport Manitoba. It was a pleasure attending such a wonderful event and we look forward in working with you in the near future.

Cheers,
Brandon Cricket Club

Cricket League Game Canceled for Saturday May 23rd

Posted Fri May 22 - 09:08 PM

To all Brandon Cricket Club Members:

We will not be playing our first outdoor summer league game in Winnipeg this Saturday, May 23rd due to poor pitch conditions. The game against Bharat C.C. has been moved to August. More information will be provided when available.

Since we want to ensure you a safe and high quality cricket experience, there will be no cricket this weekend. Please ensure that everyone is made aware of this. None of the pitches shall be used during this time.

Due to the underground water pipes in the park still being frozen, the Park people were unable to turn on the water at the usual time. Without water, the pitches could not be prepared properly.

The league will commence the following week as scheduled. The canceled games from this weekend will get rescheduled towards the end of the season (mid to late August). A revised schedule will be sent out shortly.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Summer League Chairman
